About the role#
As a Graphic Artist Intern, you will assist the art department in creating and evaluating vector art for promotional items. You will work based on specific vendor and department requirements to ensure images are suitable for imprinting. This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule. The role is reviewed each semester to determine if the workload supports continued employment.
What you'll do#
- Create electronic images for the imprinting of promotional products.
- Convert various file types into usable vector-based art, including cleaning up images from faxes or bitmaps.
- Typeset and provide proofs for customer orders.
- Create line illustrations from photos and physical items.
- Alter existing layouts so they can be imprinted on different products.
- Assist with various projects for other departments as needed.
- Help in the photography studio when required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year or four-year degree program in Graphic Arts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDraw.
- Basic understanding of production art skills and terminology.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Experience in the promotional products industry or knowledge of imprinting methods is a plus.

- This is a paid, part-time position.
