About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the digital communications strategy for the largest container terminal in North America. You will work with operational teams and communications stakeholders to share stories about global trade, sustainability, and community impact. This role is based at our facility on Pier 400 in Los Angeles.
What you'll do#
- Manage the social media presence for APM Terminals Los Angeles on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
- Create short-form content including videos, graphics, and captions.
- Capture on-site content at Pier 400, such as terminal events, tours, volunteer activities, and day-in-the-life features.
- Plan and maintain a weekly content calendar.
- Engage with audiences by responding to comments and messages.
- Track and summarize performance metrics like reach, engagement, views, and follower growth.
- Support ad hoc communications projects and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with major social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and X.
- Experience with content creation tools like CapCut, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- A basic understanding of social media analytics and content performance measurement.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to follow brand guidelines.
- General computer proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- An interest in learning about port operations, logistics, and supply chain activities.

- Location: 2500 Navy Way, Terminal Island, Los Angeles, California.
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer and part-time during the academic year.
- Work modality: On-site.
