About the role#
Mechanical Engineers at bp ensure the ongoing integrity of our facilities. You will work alongside subsea, floating systems, and pipeline engineers to support flow assurance and facility maintenance. This 12-week summer internship offers the chance to build technical knowledge and develop key skills through project-based work.
What you'll do#
- Participate in all stages of system design, including initial planning, equipment selection, specification, and delivery.
- Interact on a day-to-day basis with contractors and other production staff.
- Align strictly to bp’s integrity management and health, safety, security and environment principles.
- Provide technical knowledge to offer guidance and assurance for Major Projects.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Graduating between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-week program).
