About the role#
EMH&T offers a paid summer internship for students interested in land surveying and civil engineering. You will join the survey division in Columbus and work under the mentorship of a project manager or professional surveyor. This role provides hands-on experience on real-world projects, helping you build your professional network and prepare for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Transform field data into working documents using CAD software.
- Assist in the preparation of topographic, ALTA, and boundary surveys.
- Create easement descriptions and terrain models.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals on project assignments.
- Contribute to public and private sector projects while learning the business side of surveying.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Land Surveying/Mapping or Civil Engineering with a minor in Survey.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- A basic understanding of surveying principles, tools, and methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Technical aptitude and a willingness to develop proficiency with engineering design software.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and apply feedback to your work.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Initiative, curiosity, and a professional, dependable attitude.

- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
