    About the role#

    General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Software/Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Manassas, Virginia, focusing on the software that monitors and controls mission-critical payload systems. This is a full-time, paid internship.

    What you'll do#

    • Build software for mission-critical payload systems.
    • Work alongside experienced engineers on full-stack solutions, including user interfaces, backend services, data flows, and system integrations.
    • Contribute to the full product lifecycle, from design and development to integration and testing.
    • Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineers in a hands-on environment.
    • Design, build, test, and improve features from early concepts through deployment.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required. A Secret clearance is preferred at the time of hire.
