About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monthly counts.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures, including Quality Assurance Programs.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information.
- Adhere to all company policies and store guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A commitment to patient health.
- Six months or less of similar work experience is preferred.
