About the role#
This internship focuses on embodied AI and dexterous manipulation. You will work on using large-scale foundation models and human data to help robots gain physical world intelligence. Your goal is to translate human-object interaction data into robotic behaviors and deploy these policies on real hardware to perform complex tasks.
What you'll do#
- Develop frameworks to transfer human-object interaction skills to various robotic embodiments.
- Build pipelines to process visual and human glove-collected data for robot training.
- Implement generative architectures to create physically grounded trajectories from human motions.
- Research cross-embodiment representations to improve generalization in unstructured environments.
- Optimize techniques to move policies from simulation to physical robot deployment.
What you'll need#
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Technical foundation in robot learning and control, including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or world modeling.
- Experience implementing and fine-tuning Generative Models and Transformer architectures.
- Practical experience with robotic manipulation systems, specifically involving grasping, contact-rich interaction, or multi-sensor perception.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Experience with robotics middleware or simulation tools such as ROS/ROS2, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, or PyBullet.
Location & details#
- Location: San Jose, California, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Salary: $38.00 - $46.00 per hour.
