About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at our manufacturing facility from January 5 to April 23, 2027. You will join a small site-specific team to support environmental and safety initiatives, working in both office settings and on the plant floor.
What you'll do#
- Support the Halifax operation in reaching 100% compliance with EH&S requirements.
- Identify and implement ways to reduce waste, water use, and energy consumption.
- Help with EH&S programs focused on risk identification and mitigation, including ergonomics and chemical exposures.
- Assist in developing business case documents for capital projects, including data gathering, vendor communication, and budget estimates.
- Participate in incident investigations, track data, and help implement corrective actions.
- Attend and contribute to various committee meetings, such as those for industrial hygiene and joint occupational health and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Canadian university.
- Enrollment in an Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to work on-site in Halifax.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain required clearances for handling controlled goods.
