About the role#
The Effector RF Design Department at Raytheon is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within a multi-discipline team to develop Radio Frequency systems, subsystems, and components such as antennas, circuit cards, and test equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will perform engineering tasks while having access to technical mentors and professional shadowing opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex engineering problems within a multi-discipline team.
- Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF product designs.
- Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate their fabrication.
- Perform hands-on integration and test support for prototype hardware.
- Hold design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Academic coursework in areas such as manufacturing and design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, vibrations, materials, mechatronics, or statics.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to your start date.
