About the role#
The Application Engineer Co-op provides mechanical and electrical design support for new and existing components. You will translate high-level design concepts from engineering teams into detailed drawings and specifications. This role offers hands-on experience and coaching in motor design principles and applications.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing to support customer inquiries.
- Support manufacturing design and process change requests.
- Use and interpret analytical and test equipment.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams.
- Participate in development projects by executing design work and documentation.
- Lead design change investigations.
- Work with mechanical design teams to create test plans.
- Manage the 3-D printer, including loading files and materials, unloading parts, and completing maintenance.
- Support documentation for layout drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant engineering field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Basic 3D modeling knowledge in Solidworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Self-directed work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to create action plans and manage time effectively.
- Strong relationship and team-building skills.
- No prior experience is required.
