About the role#
As an Industrial Hygienist Intern, you will work on-site to maintain a safe and healthy environment at our facility. This role involves identifying workplace hazards and ensuring we follow federal and state safety regulations. You will gain hands-on experience while supporting our team in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
What you'll do#
- Assess workplace hazards and create plans to control or remove them.
- Perform air, noise, and chemical exposure monitoring.
- Conduct safety audits and educate employees on health and safety topics.
- Interpret and apply safety regulations to daily operations.
- Collaborate with departments like engineering and maintenance to solve safety issues.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and share findings with management.
What you'll need#
- You must have completed your Sophomore year of college by the start of the internship.
- You are currently working toward a bachelor degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale is required.
- You must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR 22 CFR 120.62.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Plans to be enrolled in classes for the Fall 2027 semester.
Location & details#
- Location: Decatur, Alabama.
- Term: Full-time for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- Requirements: A valid driver license and personal motorized transportation are required for this location.
- Status: This is a paid internship.
