About the role#
University of Michigan Health-West is hiring a Graduate Medical Assistant to provide clinical support to providers. You will work under the supervision of the site medical director and office manager. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Wyoming, Michigan. You must obtain your certification or registration within 120 days of your start date.
What you'll do#
- Document patient vital signs, physical condition, and emotional state in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and clinical procedures.
- Process laboratory specimens for internal or external testing.
- Perform in-office diagnostic tests such as EKGs and holter monitors.
- Help physicians with the administration of medications.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain diagnostic equipment.
- Organize medication samples and manage clinical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant, L.P.N., or R.N. program. You must provide proof of graduation before you start.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9 codes.
- Understanding of medical office operations and Universal Precautions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer and typing proficiency.
