About the role#
The Business Intelligence (BI) Co-Op works with business stakeholders and technical teams to support reporting, analytics, and data visualization. You will translate business needs into dashboards and reports to help drive decision-making across the organization. This position offers hands-on experience in report development, data modeling, and operational analysis.
What you'll do#
- Meet with business users to document reporting and analytics requirements.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI.
- Clean, transform, and validate data to ensure accurate reporting.
- Analyze operational data to find trends and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to turn data into clear visualizations.
- Assist with data modeling and report design.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data quality or reporting issues.
- Document specifications, business processes, and data sources.
- Support improvement initiatives through performance analysis.
- Learn and apply best practices for data visualization and analytics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- At least Sophomore standing with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Ability to commit to three semesters, rotating between AFL and school.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Genuine interest in business intelligence and data visualization.
- Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, programming languages, or reporting tools like Power BI is preferred.
