About the role#
Allied Fire Protection offers an 8-9 week internship for students to explore the fire and life safety industry. This program provides exposure to new construction, remodeling, underground work, alarm and sprinkler services, design, inspection, and estimation. You will work across different departments to find your specific area of interest.
What you'll do#
- Handle daily tasks and assigned responsibilities within your department.
- Participate in hands-on activities, including work with project management software.
- Assist with alarm and sprinkler systems.
- Provide physical support for department initiatives as a helper.
- Navigate a mix of office work and field project sites, which may involve heights, machinery, and various weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Currently pursuing an Associate degree in Design or a construction trade, or a Bachelor degree in Construction, Design, or Health and Safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Willingness to learn new methods and training skills.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Previous exposure to labor positions in inclement weather is a plus.
- A valid driver license, drug test, and background check are required.
