About the role#
The Tax Intern works with the Tax Team to support federal and state tax compliance, income tax provision preparation, and reporting activities. You will assist with gathering data, preparing schedules, and maintaining documentation to support accurate tax filings. This position provides exposure to corporate taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance in a professional office environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of federal and state indirect tax filings, including premium, withholding, franchise, sales and use, and excise taxes.
- Support data collection and organization for income tax return preparation.
- Compile documentation to assist with tax audits and tax authority inquiries.
- Gather financial data and prepare supporting schedules for quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and prepare workpapers.
- Maintain tax documentation and supporting files.
- Support process improvement initiatives and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
- Basic accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational habits.
- Ability to follow instructions and work within established procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
