About the role#
Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP is hiring a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 season. This is a paid, on-site position based in Watsonville, California. You will work approximately 20 hours per week from February through April, though business needs may require additional hours.
What you'll do#
- Support the tax accounting team with preparation and calculation tasks.
- Assist with individual tax research and sales tax projects.
- Prepare individual, gift, and fiduciary returns by following provided directions.
- Draft business property statements and assist with small business projects.
- Enter your time daily and assign hours to specific clients for accurate billing.
- Follow all firm policies, procedures, and safety rules as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A foundational grasp of accounting theory, practices, and tax guidance.
- Knowledge of professional rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including advanced functions. Experience with Lacerte is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail.
- The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- A self-motivated approach to completing assignments with guidance from tax staff.
- A commitment to professional standards of conduct and personal integrity.

- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
