About the role#
This Winter 2027 internship offers hands-on experience in either tax or audit. You will work alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your development. You will contribute to client work while building an understanding of various industries and business needs. This role helps you strengthen your technical accounting knowledge and professional skills while exploring a career in public accounting.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engagement teams and clients to gather information and maintain documentation.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Apply coaching and feedback to improve your work quality and technical knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
- Participate in training, team activities, and special projects.
If you focus on audit, you will:
- Support assurance engagements by testing account balances, transactions, and financial information.
- Prepare clear workpapers that document procedures, evidence, and conclusions.
- Use firm-approved audit, data analysis, and collaboration technologies.
If you focus on tax, you will:
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, calculations, and workpapers.
- Conduct tax research and document your findings to support client needs.
- Use firm-approved tax preparation and research tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Accounting or a related business discipline.
- At least one academic term remaining after your internship ends.
- Progress toward meeting CPA exam eligibility requirements before starting a full-time associate position.
- Foundational accounting knowledge gained through coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to conduct basic research, analyze information, and document your findings.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Minimum age of 18.
