About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Pittsburgh office during the summer of 2027. You will work on land development projects and learn how a civil engineering firm operates from concept to construction. This role provides exposure to the full site development process while working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers.
What you'll do#
- Gain hands-on experience with site design and land development.
- Support the design and permitting process for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute your own ideas.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Architecture, or Urban Planning.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Curiosity and a motivation to learn.
