About the role#
The Pharmacy Technician Intern reports to the Pharmacy Manager and assists with the daily operations of the department. This position focuses on providing customer service and supporting the pharmacy team to meet departmental objectives.
What you'll do#
- Follow Calgary Co-op service standards and interact with customers and employees to maintain a positive work environment.
- Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions, ensuring high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage dispensary inventories, including ordering, receiving, rotating stock, and performing inventory counts.
- Maintain pharmacy equipment and ensure the department remains clean and organized.
- Stay informed about merchandise, industry trends, and departmental operating objectives.
- Assist with merchandising practices and special projects as needed.
- Work with the Pharmacy Manager to develop an annual performance plan.
What you'll need#
- Grade 12 education or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
- Registration as a Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test.
- A recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program is preferred.
- Two years of dispensing experience is desirable.
