    About the role#

    This position offers mechanical engineering students the chance to apply academic knowledge to oil and gas projects. You will work within the Oil Sands Projects team to solve design problems and learn engineering principles. The role involves supporting professional engineers across various areas, including bitumen production, upgrading, and utilities.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn basic engineering and design principles through the mechanical discipline.
    • Design, specify, and verify pressure piping systems in the field.
    • Assist professional engineers in developing technical scopes for equipment procurement.
    • Use your mechanical aptitude to solve daily technical problems.
    • Review and check designs submitted by engineering contractors.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic design principles.
    • Physical ability to climb ladders and scaffolding for field verification tasks.
    • A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or an equivalent out of province license.

    Location & details#

    • Locations include Calgary, Alberta, or sites near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
    • This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
    • Work schedules vary by location, with Calgary-based roles following a 5-day work week and site-based roles following a 4-day work week.
