About the role#
The Student Housing Intern role at the Squamish campus provides practical experience in hospitality management. You will report to the Manager of Short Term Accommodation and contribute to the daily operations of student housing and guest services. This position offers exposure to reservations, event coordination, and front desk operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the coordination and execution of summer conference operations.
- Support housing assignments, guest check-in and check-out processes, and general guest services.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve accommodation issues in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members on event logistics, housing setup, and maintenance coordination.
- Contribute to the development of guest service materials such as information packets and signage.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Capilano University, specifically in Business Administration.
- Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Ability to maintain minimum credit requirements during the work term.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FOIPOP regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse communities.
