About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for our Assurance and Accounting team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will work on-site and should be prepared to travel as necessary.
What you'll do#
- Build skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage multiple client files, including setting up new accounts and conducting inventory counts.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and prepayments.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Establish charts of accounts and prepare journal entries.
- Draft technical reports, client summaries, and presentations to outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with your engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Improve work processes by using internal programs and contributing new ideas.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, preferably with a major in accounting or finance.
- You are completing the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience, customer service roles, or familiarity with accounting and tax software are considered assets.

- Salary: $45,000 to $50,000 per year.
