About the role#
We are hiring an Accounting Student Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Phoenix, Arizona. You will support our project teams by handling day-to-day financial operations and ensuring compliance across our construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Handle financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Review and analyze project reports, adjustments, and submissions.
- Perform monthly job cost analysis and reconciliations.
- Join monthly forecast review meetings to discuss project profitability and trends.
- Manage project documentation such as insurance, bonding, lien waivers, and workers compensation to ensure everything is current.
- Help set up and maintain project accounting processes.
- Interpret contracts and trade contractor documentation for accounting requirements.
- Identify and report potential compliance or financial risks to the project team and management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- A foundational understanding of full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and project forecasting.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and government regulations.
- Familiarity with project costing, insurance, and contract requirements.
- Ability to follow labor agreements, legislation, and company policies.
