About the role#
The Accounting Intern provides support to the Accounting and Finance team, specifically assisting with accounts payable tasks. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Columbus, Ohio. You will work between 10 and 40 hours per week, depending on your availability and company needs, during the standard business hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
What you'll do#
- Process incoming accounts payable mail and email.
- Handle invoices, obtain necessary approvals, and manage supporting documentation.
- Prepare, stuff, and mail weekly check runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and process truck tickets.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four-year undergraduate degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a paperless environment and process large amounts of data with high accuracy.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation and a motor vehicle record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
