About the role#
The IT Business Analyst Intern supports the IT Department by translating business needs into defined technology projects. You will work with employees, managers, and department leaders to understand business processes, identify pain points, and document requirements. This position offers exposure to business analysis, process improvement, and IT project planning. You will contribute to the development of the company IT roadmap through projects involving workflow automation, system integrations, and data initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Meet with employees and department leaders to identify business needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather requirements, process details, and desired outcomes.
- Observe business processes to validate information and identify workflow nuances, decision points, and exceptions.
- Create current-state process maps and workflow documentation.
- Develop project scope documentation that identifies business problems, objectives, dependencies, and constraints.
- Prepare project summaries to move requests from initial ideas to actionable projects.
- Assist the IT Director with organizing and maintaining the IT project roadmap.
- Present findings and requirements to stakeholders and IT team members for review.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year or four-year undergraduate degree program in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A Motor Vehicle Record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship.
- The role is based in Columbus, Ohio.
- This is an on-site position with occasional travel to other company locations or job sites as needed.
- Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., totaling 40-45 hours per week.
