About the role#
AnaVation is offering a ten-week paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides exposure to the operations of a government contracting business and professional IT development. You will participate in mentoring, learning activities, and project work. While the role is remote, the team is based in Chantilly, Virginia, and in-person collaboration is available. You will also have access to professional development workshops and sessions with company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Apply cyber security techniques for offensive and defensive missions.
- Create custom software applications from initial idea through development and testing.
- Build technology demonstrations using commercial cloud infrastructures like AWS and Azure.
- Assess new application ideas and research competitor offerings.
- Work within a team to develop applications and demonstrate a prototype to company leadership.
What you'll need#
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
- Current enrollment as a Computer Science major with a targeted graduation date of May 2028.
- A minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, math, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in teams, think critically, and manage your own learning.
- Experience with group programming projects, Agile processes (specifically Scrum), and GIT.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and NodeJS.
- Experience with front-end or back-end development and cloud systems such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- A history of academic success and experience developing software projects as a hobby.
