About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based in our New York City office. You will be matched with a specific team 2-3 months before your start date and work on a single project under the guidance of a mentor. The program concludes with a final presentation of your work. You will also have access to company events, guest speaker series, and intern-specific social activities.
What you'll do#
- Build underlying infrastructure used by engineering teams, including distributed storage and cloud environments.
- Ensure the reliability of mission-critical products and systems, such as our main trading system.
- Use open source and proprietary tools to build environments for testing and deploying quantitative strategies.
- Maintain low-latency, high-performance infrastructure for executing trades.
- Scale the infrastructure used to ingest data from over 10,000 sources every day.
- Partner with corporate teams to develop tools and systems that improve organizational productivity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in a technical or quantitative field.
- Programming experience with Java, C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or other languages that target the JVM.
- Experience working with large-scale systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A focus on building quality software and a critical approach to technology.

- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Weekly base pay is $3,800 for Bachelors, $3,900 for Masters, and $4,200 for PhD students.
