About the role#
Crowe BGK is seeking U.S. Tax Interns for a 4- or 8-month internship beginning in January 2027. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in international finance and cross-border taxation. You will work with a team that manages dual reporting for clients with U.S. ties, including dual citizens, business owners, and those with U.S. property. This internship serves as a potential pathway toward a permanent position.
What you'll do#
- Prepare U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns, such as 1120 and 1065 forms.
- Assist with U.S. personal tax returns, including 1040, 1040NR, and FinCEN 114 filings.
- Prepare U.S. trust tax returns, including 1041 and 1040NR forms.
- Assist with U.S. gift and estate tax returns, such as 706, 706-NA, and 709.
- Support the preparation of foreign tax credit calculations and treaty-based return positions using Form 8833.
- Apply income tax treaties to help clients avoid double taxation.
- Enter and validate data within tax preparation software.
- Communicate with clients to collect necessary information and documentation.
- Collaborate with partners, managers, and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Commerce program with a major or concentration in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English, with French considered an asset.
- Ability to work well in team settings and strong interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and a self-starter mindset.
- Detail-oriented approach and a willingness to learn quickly.
- Availability to work additional hours during the peak tax season if required.
