About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Student for the External Financial Advisory team in Edmonton. This is a full-time, paid position for an eight-month term beginning in January 2027. You will work on-site to provide financial information and support to a variety of clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients regarding payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Set up charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Manage multiple client files and assist with inventory counts.
- Prepare technical reports and summaries of engagement findings.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are completing the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous experience in an accounting office is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is helpful.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is considered an asset.
