About the role#
As an audit intern in the Financial Institutions Group, you will specialize in auditing credit unions and community banks. You will begin with a week of hands-on training to learn audit software and procedures. Throughout the term, you will work alongside shareholders and associates on engagements, gaining experience similar to that of a first-year staff member.
What you'll do#
- Join various engagement teams to complete audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Gain exposure to 8-12 client engagements.
- Travel to client sites to perform audit work.
- Compile and analyze financial data.
- Test and document business transactions.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
- A cumulative and major GPA of at least 3.0.
- Completion of at least one intermediate accounting course by winter 2026 is preferred.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including Saturdays, from January 4, 2027, through April 15, 2027.
- Strong motivation to pursue a career in public accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative through work or extracurriculars.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
