About the role#
As a State and Local Tax intern, you will work with various companies to build client relationships and address their business challenges. You will participate in multiple team engagements, contributing to several parts of an assignment to gain a comprehensive view of tax operations.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Build your understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with client information technology teams to obtain data for analysis.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accounting degree program with at least 90 credit hours completed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client locations.

- This internship is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
- The role is on-site and full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
