    About the role#

    This internship supports the right-of-way maintenance program at Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation. You will work outdoors as part of a crew to clear vegetation from around electric lines and facilities. This position offers hands-on experience with utility operations and safe work practices while helping maintain reliable service for the cooperative.

    What you'll do#

    • Clear brush, trees, and vines from electric utility rights-of-way.
    • Assist with dragging, chipping, and moving woody debris.
    • Use hand tools and powered equipment like chainsaws.
    • Receive training on brush grinders, tractors, and trimmers.
    • Inspect tools and equipment before use and keep them clean.
    • Work safely around electric facilities by following established procedures.
    • Identify hazards such as uneven terrain, overhead lines, and changing weather.
    • Communicate equipment problems or safety concerns to crew leaders.
    • Assist with loading and transporting materials.
    • Work occasionally as a helper for line technicians.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from high school, college, or a technical program.
    • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or dusty conditions.
    • Capability to walk on uneven or rough terrain.
    • Strength to lift, carry, push, and pull tools and brush.
    • Commitment to safety and working as part of a team.
    • Comfort using tools and learning to operate powered equipment.
    • Reliability and the ability to report to work on time.
    • Previous experience in landscaping, farming, forestry, or construction is helpful but not required.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
    • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with hours typically between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid internship.
