About the role#
This internship provides an immersive experience in construction management. You will gain a foundation in preconstruction, project management, or field operations. Programs are curated for your individual growth and offer exposure to all facets of our business. You will work alongside mentors in an environment focused on accountability and shared success.
What you'll do#
- Take off project quantities and assemble project scopes for bidding.
- Analyze data to estimate time, materials, labor, and cost.
- Create and present accurate estimates.
- Solicit subcontractors and manage subcontractor selection.
- Review bid scope sheets and subcontractor proposals.
- Assist in the preparation of subcontract scopes of work.
- Support Project Managers with schedules, submittals, change orders, and RFIs.
- Attend subcontractor and OAC meetings.
- Identify quality issues and monitor underperforming subcontractors.
- Assist in projecting and forecasting project costs.
- Ensure jobs meet client expectations on-site.
- Assist Superintendents with 3-week schedules and subcontractor coordination.
- Lead pre-task safety meetings and champion job-site safety.
- Support documentation including daily reports, RFIs, and project photography.
- Complete close-out duties such as punch-lists and as-built documents.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in construction technology, building construction, civil engineering, business, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, contractors, and vendors.
