About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the experience necessary for US licensure. You must complete your internship within 18 months and pass all required pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Process prescriptions, including SIG code translation, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Maintain inventory levels and handle replenishment tasks.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and perform register transactions.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, HIPAA standards, and internal company policies.
- Participate in store operational meetings and coordinate staff training.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance and growth.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
