About the role#
This internship provides a pathway for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The program is designed to prepare you for the pharmacist licensure process through hands-on experience and a structured learning plan. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and secure pharmacist licensure in the state of Nebraska within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic care and support.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and restocking.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Support immunization services where permissible by state regulations.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in Nebraska within 120 days of completing internship hours.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
