About the role#
St. Theresa Catholic Church is seeking a Youth Ministry & Discipleship Intern to support our Confirmation and youth programs. This role is for a college student who wants to help young people grow in their faith. You will work alongside the Director of Discipleship to gain practical experience in ministry operations, event planning, and leadership. This is a paid, part-time position that balances administrative tasks with direct work in youth ministry.
What you'll do#
- Manage ministry calendars, records, and digital files.
- Prepare materials and communications for teens, parents, and volunteers.
- Track deadlines and follow-up tasks for various ministry projects.
- Assist with logistics and coordination for retreats and events.
- Help execute Saturday gatherings and other ministry programming.
- Support small-group leaders in creating a welcoming environment for teenagers.
- Build relationships with teens while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Assist in facilitating small-group conversations.
- Meet regularly with the Director of Discipleship for mentorship and feedback.
- Learn the principles of Catholic evangelization and discipleship.

- You are a practicing Catholic and a college student.
- You are committed to growing in your faith and following Jesus Christ.
- You have a genuine passion for working with teenagers.
- You are organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- You can work independently after training and demonstrate initiative.
- You are teachable and receptive to feedback.
- You communicate clearly and professionally.
- You are comfortable using common digital and organizational tools.
- You demonstrate maturity and good judgment when working with minors.
- You are willing to handle both administrative work and hands-on ministry.
- You can commit to 10 to 15 hours per week during the academic year.
- You are available for some evening and weekend ministry activities.
- You must complete diocesan background screening and safe-environment training.
