About the role#
This summer internship provides support to the Environmental Market Sector at DOWL. You will gain exposure to professional practice through hands-on experience, field work, and project participation. This is a full-time, paid position based in Anchorage, Alaska.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of permit applications, reports, studies, and memos.
- Conduct environmental and compliance research.
- Support field work as needed.
- Attend meetings with clients and agencies.
- Coordinate with project team members.
- Assist with project management activities.
- Perform other environmental duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 1-2 years of college-level coursework toward a baccalaureate degree in environmental engineering or related studies.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong communication skills to respond to inquiries and present information to clients, co-workers, and the public.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project software.
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and special projects.
