About the role#
Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern for our office in The Woodlands, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that the firm does not provide housing for interns.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
- Perform drafting CAD work.
- Complete calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
