About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your degree. You will assist with daily operations and patient care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Prepare prescriptions and apply labels to containers.
- Manage inventory by ordering supplies, stocking shelves, and entering data.
- Complete monthly inventory checks and follow security procedures.
- Maintain customer confidentiality regarding medical information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Help train pharmacy staff and keep the dispensing area clean.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
