About the role#
Interplay invests in, coaches, and co-founds companies. We are building an AI operations platform to improve how our firm and portfolio companies run. As an AI Labs Intern, you will join our Platform team to work on our internal products. You will sit with the people using our tools to identify gaps and build solutions. You will work directly on production workflows rather than in a sandbox environment.
What you'll do#
- Observe business line teams to document their current workflows.
- Test and QA new AI protocols, triage issues, and reproduce bugs.
- Prototype small tools, scripts, and integrations to solve specific problems.
- Write and maintain documentation for internal tools and protocols.
- Perform research tasks such as competitive scans, vendor evaluations, and feasibility checks.
- Complete build tasks across frontend, backend, and APIs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on building experience.
- Working proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Basic understanding of APIs and SQL databases.
- Evidence of shipping a project from start to finish, whether through coursework, internships, hackathons, or personal projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. work authorization.
- Experience with Next.js, Vercel, Supabase, or AI/LLM platforms is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based in New York, New York.
- The position is hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the office.
- The role requires 10 to 20 hours per week, with flexibility around your class schedule.
- This is a paid internship with the potential to convert to full-time.
