About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training for individuals building a career in HVAC maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to learn technical skills through practical application. This role offers a structured way to understand commercial building systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and system inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance for equipment like air handlers, chillers, and boilers.
- Learn to read mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing system issues using testing equipment and troubleshooting methods.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives by monitoring system performance.
- Attend technical training sessions to build knowledge of HVAC theory and design.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication abilities and an eagerness to learn.
- The ability to follow safety protocols and technical instructions.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, and in occupied spaces.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
