About the role#
The Lloyd Meeds Policy Fellowship Program is a semester-long opportunity for undergraduate students to join the Public Policy and Law Practice at K&L Gates. This role provides an inside look at the federal political process in Washington, DC, while supporting the firm's policy affairs.
What you'll do#
- Assist Government Affairs Specialists and other policy professionals with daily tasks.
- Monitor press and Capitol Hill publications for topics relevant to clients.
- Conduct research and create charts concerning legislation, policy, and politics.
- Compile briefing books for attorneys and clients.
- Attend Congressional hearings.
- Deliver and retrieve documents from Capitol Hill.
What you'll need#
- You are a current college student with a focus in Political Science, Economics, History, or Communications.
- You have an interest in federal legislation, policy, and politics.
- You possess strong communication and organization skills.
- You are highly motivated.
- You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and electronic information sources.

- This is an on-site internship located in Washington, DC.
- The term is for Fall 2026.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- The role operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the use of standard office equipment. You may be required to lift files or use a stool.
