About the role#
Keros Therapeutics is hiring a Research Associate Co-Op to join the protein biochemistry group. This role focuses on the biochemical, biophysical, and structural properties of the TGF-beta superfamily. You will support early-stage drug discovery by generating proteins and reagents for research programs. This is a hands-on position requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do#
- Design novel protein molecules and variants using computational and molecular biology methods.
- Manage protein production, including expression in mammalian systems and purification using FPLC, affinity, ion-exchange, and SEC chromatography.
- Create and refine protein characterization assays and techniques.
- Document all experimental and computational work in electronic lab notebooks and study reports.
- Present research findings and write reports for internal research meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's program for Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Interest in protein sciences or computational biology.
- Experience with structural biology and modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in wet lab basics like pipetting, volumetric handling, and lab etiquette.
- Ability to calculate chemical stoichiometry and prepare buffers accurately.
