About the role#
The Communication Coordinator Co-op supports the Manager, Communications to ensure effective project communication for the DNNP project. You will act as the single point of contact for internal communications and work with project teams to improve how information flows across the site. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Draft, edit, and manage communication materials, including newsletters, SharePoint content, and daily crew briefs.
- Serve as the primary internal contact for DNNP communications.
- Coordinate with corporate public affairs and IT teams to align messaging and use effective technology.
- Manage the DNNP employee recognition program by working with relevant stakeholders.
- Connect with project teams at all levels to identify communication needs and areas for improvement.
- Promote an inclusive culture that welcomes different perspectives and supports career growth.
- Assist the Manager, Communications with additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a communications program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on client service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Express, Premiere Pro, Photoshop).
- Understanding of construction methods and building systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to championing inclusion and diversity.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Darlington and Clarington, Ontario.
- This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term.
- You must be able to work during normal operating hours, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required.
