About the role#
As an Intern Developer for AI Solutions, you will join a full-stack team focused on applying machine learning algorithms to supply chain challenges. You will work alongside senior engineers to develop and integrate software solutions, contributing to the end-to-end lifecycle of ML applications. This role involves balancing immediate technical tasks with long-term goals like system scalability and maintainability. You will be treated as a full-time developer and expected to take ownership of the features you build.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and integrate AI/ML software solutions from concept to production.
- Build and maintain ML pipelines, infrastructure, and development tools.
- Design methods to troubleshoot, debug, and prevent issues within ML systems.
- Develop capabilities that improve user experience and reduce the time required to address technical problems.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, paired programming, and retrospectives.
- Automate development and release processes to increase efficiency.
- Verify the functional and non-functional quality of your work.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or have completed the 3rd year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and experience with libraries like Pandas and ML frameworks.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and the associated ecosystem including Helm and Argo Workflows.
- Working experience with Azure or GCP cloud environments.
- Proficiency in SQL, specifically with window functions, aggregate functions, and joins.
- Understanding of distributed computing architectures and experience with ML productization.
- Strong communication skills and a methodical approach to complex technical problem-solving.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: Hybrid (must be in the office at least three days per week).
- Term: Winter 2027 (8 or 12-month position).
- Compensation: $27.04 - $39.66 per hour.
- Status: Full-time internship.
