About the role#
Labcorp is seeking a Microbiology Lab Intern to join our team in Indianapolis for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid 11-week program running from June 1, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work on-site Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, gaining hands-on experience in a clinical lab environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens following established procedures and quality standards.
- Analyze test results and use independent judgment to ensure accuracy within quality control requirements.
- Maintain lab records, documentation, and data in compliance with regulatory and departmental policies.
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines in all assigned tasks.
- Participate in research and development activities.
- Assist with the evaluation and modification of laboratory processes.
- Support quality improvement initiatives to contribute to lab operations.
- Collaborate with lab personnel to complete testing activities on time.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Biology, Microbiology, or Biomedical Sciences.
- A genuine interest in laboratory science and microbiology.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow specific laboratory procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new scientific concepts and laboratory skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
- Ability to actively participate in training and apply new skills.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Duration: 11 weeks (June 1, 2027 - August 13, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
