About the role#
This is a PRN position for a Radiology Tech Student at Wythe County Community Hospital. You will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working toward your degree. This role is on-site in Wytheville, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist following JRCERT guidelines.
- Communicate the nature of tests to patients to help relieve their anxiety.
- Maintain a safe, hazard-free work area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, radiation safety, and imaging equipment.
- Apply skills in image quality and quality control techniques.
- Interact in a helpful manner with patients, physicians, and staff.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Diploma, or Associate Degree program in Radiologic Technology (school verification required).
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

- Compensation: $15.27 to $18.86 per hour.
