About the role#
As an intern in the Annuity Finance organization, you will gain hands-on experience by performing the daily tasks of our accounting professionals. You will manage a small book of business and handle accounting functions ranging from journal entries to financial analysis. This role offers exposure to core accounting work and the opportunity to learn from leaders across the finance department.
What you'll do#
- Record monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system.
- Prepare reports, schedules, and financial statements for management.
- Maintain current documentation of processes and tasks.
- Assist with the analysis of statutory and GAAP financial statements.
- Develop an understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting guidance for the insurance industry.
- Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors.
- Perform routine accounting activities and participate in process improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in at least your second year of a Bachelor's degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage your time and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Availability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
