    About the role#

    The Missing Children Division (MCD) intern supports teams working to resolve cases involving missing and exploited children. This role is based in Rochester, New York, for the Fall 2026 semester. This is an unpaid internship, though participants may receive academic credit through their college or university. You must be available to work at least 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide technical assistance to families, law enforcement, courts, and social service agencies.
    • Coordinate with law enforcement and state agencies to help resolve cases.
    • Organize case files and maintain accurate documentation of activities.
    • Search open source and social media platforms for relevant information.
    • Update and maintain the case management database.
    • Assist with various data projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Completion of at least two years of college.
    • A concentration in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Ability to analyze written materials.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
