    About the role#

    Nebraska Public Power District is hiring up to three Interns or Co-Op Engineers for the Summer and Fall 2027 sessions. These roles are based at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. You will work under an Engineering Supervisor to gain experience in nuclear power generation. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn and apply AC/DC system modeling techniques using EDSA software.
    • Assist with electrical and instrument control logic modifications.
    • Calculate and track electrical loading for Motor Control Centers.
    • Apply National Electrical Code standards to new and existing installations.
    • Assist with the preparation and field support of engineering modifications.
    • Prepare Design Change Notices and assist with mechanical engineering evaluations.
    • Perform equipment and component walk downs on-site.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an undergraduate student pursuing an engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
    • You must be finishing your sophomore year of college to be eligible.
    • Majors in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering are preferred.

    • Location: Brownville, Nebraska.
    • Term: Summer 2027 or Summer/Fall 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $25.64 to $29.58 per hour based on academic standing.
    • Benefits: Interns receive a $1,000 housing stipend, and Co-Ops receive a $2,500 housing stipend.
